Basic wedding pricing sheet
There are many variables that can effect the pricing of wedding photography. To arrive at the actual final
price we will meet to talk specifics. This price guideline will give you a good idea of how I work and my basic pricing.
To begin, I have an hourly charge of $100 with a three hour minimum and charge $30 per roll of film
shot. That fee covers the price of the film and produces a set of 4x6 prints for you. These are your proofs to keep and use
to order any reprints or enlargements. How many hours and how many rolls can be up to you. In this way you can have some
input in order to arrive at the price you would like to pay. Likewise, the number of hours I shoot depends on the amount of
coverage of the event you want.
MINIMUM COVERAGE
This is basically just the ceremony with all group formals and bride & groom portraits. The cost entails
my 3 hour minimum and as many rolls you would like shot. On average, three to five rolls could cover these shots. That
would make the cost anywhere from $300 to $400.
MEDIUM COVERAGE
This includes the above events as well as things like the rice toss and car ride to the reception, etc.
Also a couple of choice events at the reception that you know you want pictures of. i.e. cutting the cake, the bouquet toss,
or the best mans speech. This could be three to five hours and four to six rolls of film. This option would cost from $375
to $525.
FULL COVERAGE
This means an entire day of shooting starting with the preparation of the bride and the pinning of corsages
on the wedding party all the way to candid and/or table shots at the reception and all events in between. This could be six
to eight hours of shooting and six to ten rolls of film. So this rings in at anywhere from $600 to as much as $850.
With this as a guideline you can start to see what you get and how much you can pay for it. Now before
we meet, you can think about how much of your wedding you want photographed. What events during the day do you want recorded?
And how much do you anticipate spending for this work?
Another thing I should address briefly is what happens to your negatives. It is the express right of the
photographer to keep all negatives of his/her work. That having been said, I keep my negatives one year from the date of the
event. I keep them in acid-free archival negative sleeves and you can at any time order reprints and enlargements of any picture
you have. After one year, if you like, I can turn the negatives over to you to keep. Or you can have me archive them for you
in my own filing system. If you absolutely want the negatives at the time I deliver you the proofs, you may. For this there
is a fee of $200 that is added to the overall price of the wedding shoot.
For a deposit I require 1/3 of the total cost that we have agreed upon as soon as possible after you book
the wedding date. The remainder can be paid any time prior to the day of the wedding. If you are keeping the negatives you
can pay for them when I give you the proofs after the wedding. This, of course, will all be worked out as we talk and get
to know each other long before the wedding day.
I look forward to hearing from you. I'm sure that we can come up with a price that is agreeable to both
of us.
